• It is designed as a honeycomb-shaped metal structure, and incorporates a series of precious metals (mainly palladium, rhodium and platinum) on its surface. The function of these precious metals is to transform polluting gases, such as carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons, into carbon dioxide (non-toxic) and water vapor.

Why is it important to install this catalytic converter on the Akrapovic?

The Akrapovic silencer needs to have this catalytic converter fitted to comply with EC (Euro 3) or ECE (Euro 4) homologation in terms of pollutant gas emissions, and thus be able to pass the MOT. In other words, if the catalytic converter is NOT fitted, the Akrapovic silencer IS NOT APPROVED.
