What is the exhaust servo motor?

Most sportbikes have a valve in the exhaust to restrict gas flow under certain conditions.

Why? They're generally partially closed at low revs to minimize noise and comply with emissions regulations. This valve is controlled by a stepper motor (and possibly some cables).

Why remove the exhaust servo motor?

Most aftermarket exhaust systems (and some slip-ons) do not have a valve, making the booster unnecessary.

Some users choose to disconnect the control valve so that it is fully open in the search for more power.

The servo motor is prone to failure and can be quite heavy, so removing it will lighten the bike and save space.

Why do you need an ESE?

The booster is controlled by the ECU, which will typically detect if it is removed and display a fault light on the instrument panel. Additionally, the ECU may apply a reduced power map as a result of the "fault."

The ESE mimics the servo motor electronics so the ECU thinks it is still installed.

The device eliminates the "FI" error message and ensures that the standard injection map is applied.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the exhausts approved?

We have both approved and non-approved models in stock. Approved models are clearly indicated in the description. If nothing is mentioned, it is not approved.

Do they pass the MOT?

Approved models pass the MOT, as long as they have the db killer and catalytic converter installed.

Will I be fined if it is not approved?

Almost all of our non-homologated models include removable DB killers. If the DB killer is installed, fines are not usually incurred.
